Voters are encouraged to verify their voter registration information by calling the Clerk’s Office at (775) 753-4600, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or online at https://www.nvsos.gov/votersearch .
Online voter registration through the Nevada Secretary of State at www.registertovotenv.gov closes on October 29, 2020.
Same-day registration will be available on November 3, 2020 at all polling locations.
In Person Voting:
In person Polling Places for the 2020 General Election will be open to Carlin residents at 101 S. 8th Street on November 3, 2020 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. If you choose to vote in person, you may bring your mail ballot to surrender to the election workers at the polling place. If you do not bring your mail ballot, you must sign an Affirmation prior to voting.
In person voters are REQUIRED to wear a face covering when voting in person. Please be aware that there may be long lines at the polling locations because the check-in process will be longer. All polling locations will be in compliance with social distancing requirements and all election equipment will be sanitized. Voters will be asked to used hand sanitizer prior to voting on a machine.
Early Voting will be available at the Elko Convention Center on the following dates:
Saturday, October 17th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Monday – Friday, October 19th – 23rd from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, October 24th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Monday – Friday, October 26th – October 30th from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Mail Ballot Voting:
If you choose to vote using your mail ballot make sure to mark your ballot, sign the return envelope, and return your ballot by mail or in person.
By Mail: Return your voted ballot in the postage pre-paid envelope. Ballots must be postmarked ON or BEFORE election day AND received in the Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. the 7th day after Election Day.
In Person: Mail ballots may be dropped off at the County Clerk’s office (Elko County Clerk’s Office, 550 Court Street, 3rd Floor, Elko) by the closing of polls on election day, mail ballots may also be dropped off during Early Voting hours or from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. at any Election Day polling location.
Carlin City Hall will have a ballot drop box available at 151 S. 8th St from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on October 19th-23rd and October 26th – 29th. These ballots will be transported to the Elko County Clerk’s Office daily.
